It's been pretty quiet on the blog this week, but I've been busy trying to finish some sewing projects such as duvet covers for the boys and a teepee for their upcoming party. I'm still trying to figure out a way to make my teepee a little more sturdy for my rowdy boys, but as soon as I've got it I'll be sure to post some pictures here. In other news, I'm still waiting on my kitchen counters. We chose a lovely statuario marble (you can see a glimpse of the slab here and here). I've rounded up some marble decor and DIY projects this week for my Some Things to celebrate my soon to be marble counters! Marble is really a timeless material and I hope you like the decor and DIY ideas below.
TO FRAME: Heather from Decor Fix framed a piece of marble paper for some instant DIY art.
I also love the geometric prints from Kristina Krogh that feature different marble patterns.
TO LIGHT: I'm still looking for some lighting for my kitchen since I decided to hang the pendant I was going to use for the kitchen in my dining room! This marble pendant looks a little like a mushroom with its Eddison type bulb. A marble mushroom light - LOVE!
TO DIY: These hexagon trivets/boards were a DIY project using a tile saw.
TO DYE: Marble Dyeing of paper and fabric. The tutorial can be found here.
TO TELL TIME: I love this minimal and beautiful marble clock from Menu.
TO CUSHION: This cushion is an affordable way to add a little marble to your space.

DeleteLoving the marble pattern these days! Looking forward to see the projects you're working on. I've seen some teepees with holes drilled in the top and rope going through it so it's tied together that way. Not sure what you're plans are, but i'd imagine that should be sturdy enough.

DeleteI'm so excited to follow along with this. Your kitchen will be beautiful and it will be so nice to really pound it out and get it done. There's nothing like living with an unfinished kitchen. Esp. with kids who demand things like MEALS and SNACKS and DRINKS. So demanding, they are.
