STATESIDE FUN WITH KIDS - PART 2

I'm still playing catch-up with my summer posts (sorry for those of you who might be waiting for something new and exciting about our house!).  This post is a continuation from our trip south of the border to visit family.

On the day we were to visit with my great aunt, she was sleeping so we decided to drive around to kill time until she was up.  We happened upon the cutest little blueberry farm EVER.  It was right up the road from her place.  Both my boys love blueberries so this was a huge hit with them.  The farm is in the middle of nowhere, but if you find yourself near Arcade, NY in August this would be a super cute place to pick some berries.

We did lots of picking...

and eating!

The pay and weigh station was setup on the front porch.  Isn't it cute?  They used an honour system where you weigh your berries yourself and put your payment in an envelope - super laid back!  Don't worry, we paid extra for the berries the boys ate!

An attempt at a family picture.  This is the only one where you could see part of the boys' faces.  They were too interested in the berries. :)

Overall blueberry picking was a great activity to do with a baby and toddler.  If you're ever in upstate New York/Arcade go check out Blueberry Haven!

read about the first part of this trip here.

    1. We only had a few blueberries from our own bushes too. I think that walnut tree in our yard affects them. It was so fun to get to pick our own this year!

    1. Thanks Katja! We would never find a berry honour system around here and they would charge more than double for the berries as well. It was such a great little place.

    1. We usually do strawberry and blueberry picking, but we missed the strawberry season while we were traveling. It was really nice to be able to pick some blueberries at least.
