11 MONTHS

Co-pilot's 11 months!

We're having work done at our house so this month's photos had to be taken at Mummu's with her floral wallpaper in the background!  The eleventh month has been all about being on the move.  Co-pilot finally started crawling on his hands and knees and started cruising at about the same time (along anything and everything including the walls).  He has been practicing his walking nonstop and has a few bumps and bruises to show for the times he's a little too courageous!  I decided not to photoshop out his bruises so that I could remember how hard he has been working.  We don't have stairs at home, but at Mummu's he climbs up them in a flash!  His long arms and legs allow him to take each step easily.

He's also started communicating a little more clearly.  He has started using the sign for "all done" and even says "ah-dah".  We haven't really taught him any signs, but I tried "all done/finished" after his dinner and he started imitating me.  It's pretty cute!  I'm not sure if he really has a first word yet though since he doesn't always initiate words, but imitates some when I say them.  I'm not thinking it will be "mama" or "mommy" though since he doesn't use his lips sounds (p, b, m) too much. :(  Can you guess what my profession is based on that analysis?!  I really try not to analyze my kids speech too much, but sometimes I can't help it.  I wonder whether he will have a Finnish first word like Little Pilot did?

Oh, and Co-pilot loves music!  He bobs his little head and dances whenever he hears a tune!  He loves to get others to dance along with him as well.  It is beyond adorable. :)

That's Co-pilot at 11 months!

Catch up with his other monthly photos here.

    1. I know! Finally some crawling, but I think he may not crawl for very long since he's trying so hard to learn to walk. :)

  2. What an adorable Mussukka (couldn't come up for an english word for that, sorry!) :D I was just cleaning up some drawers and found a photo of my kid at 15 months, and he had a Huge bruise on his cheek.. Fell down the basement stairs while on a 'look-at-me-I-can run-like-a-racing-horse'-rampage. It's a bit weird how I get nostalgic over bruises.. :D

    1. Oh, don't apologize. I still have a hard time coming up with the right translation for certain Finnish words even though I've lived in Canada for most of my life! I think I will probably feel nostalgic over bruises too. :)

  3. LOL! He's going to be running before he walks. :D Such a sweet thing he is. My girls recognised him in the pic and asked when you were coming to visit again. :D Hugs to both of your sweeties.

    1. Co-pilot is so busy now and determined! :) Little Pilot often talks about your girls too! Their names are often in his imaginative play. :)
